UGC has decided that such candidates, who have paid the prescribed fee through Bank Challan by the due date, i.e., 2nd May, 2012 and are not able to submit their application online, may now apply in offline mode. They are, therefore, advised to download the Application Form (to be filled in duplicate), Admission Card and Attendance Slip.

Good news to NET aspirants, UGC NET exam will be conducted in objective mode from June 2012. UGC NET exam will consist of three papers. All the three papers with only objective type questions, exam will be held on the day in two separate sessions.

  • First I - 50 out of 60 Q are to be attempted (50x2 =100)1¼ Hours (09.30 to10.45 am)
  • First II - 50 Q all of which are compulsory (50x2 =100) 1¼ Hours (10.45 to 12.00 Noon.)
  • Second III - 75 Q all of which are compulsory(75x2=150) 2½ Hours (01.30 to 04.00 pm)
The candidates are required to obtain minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III. Only such candidates who obtain the minimum required marks in each Paper, separately, will be considered for final preparation of result. However, the final qualifying criteria for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for Lectureship shall be decided by UGC before declaration of result. The syllabus of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III will remain the same as last year. There will be no negative marking from 2010.
The candidates will be allowed to carry the carbon printout of OMR Response Sheets with them on conclusion of the examination.
 UGC conducts NET twice a year, i.e., in the months of June and December. UGC NET June, 2012 notifications are published in the months of March. University Grants Commission conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of JRF to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research.
The JRFs are awarded to the meritorious candidates from among the candidates qualifying for eligibility for lectureship in the NET. JRFs are available only to the candidates who opt for it in their application forms.

  6. UGC NET EXAM is good for only OBC and SC-ST students. In previous year (as-- 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011)---- only OBC and SC-ST students passed this exam. Because ---- Minimum marks (%) to be obtained
    for OBC and SC-ST students is very lower --THAN-- General students. This provision is against of the "Constitution of India" --BUT-- nobody care of our constitution.

    Now tell me that----- is there any man who solve this problem and change above rule ?????????????????????????? Where is Anna Hazre ? Where is Kiran Bedi ? Where is Arvind Kejriwal ?

  74. Hurray! Finally I submitted the application online and took out the prints. UGC site is working very very slow and stops in the middle. I started applying at 5AM and now its 8:30AM. It took 3:30 hours to fill an application online!

    Do you remember...First when State Bank of India started its online recruitment programme this WEBSITE CHOKING problem started. What happend next. It was SIFY which took the sub-contract and started its website service after getting contract from SBI. Then the came the recruitment of UPSC.....same things followed WEBSITE CHOKING...... Again SIFY came to thier rescue as MASIHA...... and now the UGCNETONLINE.IN.........PRAY to lord almight that they come and bag the order (SIFY can it be a source which is creating problems for us in order to get a massive / heafty / lucrative / mega contract from the UGC people and PLAY WITH US COMMON PEOPLE TO BAG THIS contract.

  90. Challan deposit takes only 5 minutes .I think UGC site is hosted on some cheap server. UGC is veryyy very slow ,Trying for last 5 days day and night, either showing errors or site is not opening.   92. Last year also the same problem was persisting still they have took any action. As far as traffic is concerned I don't think the traffic on UCG website shall be more than Facebook at any time. We don't face any issue of speed etc... on Facebook. It seems they bought some cheap kind of server to eat up the money allotted for it.

  108. UGC website is very slow. Instead of preparing for the exam, the aspirants were wasting time in applying. UGC has to take initiative in making proper changes in the website so that it works properly. Otherwise, its like a mental tension. The website is not responding in the midnights also.

  111. I tried to call them on the number displayed in the site. They did not pick up. Then I emailed to their email address. Those idiots don't even know the internet terminology. They call Explorer to a web browser. Similar to calling Colgate to a tooth paste.

  117. I am trying for ugc application for the last four days and nights. But all invain. I think the UGC site is hosted on a very slow(cheap) sever. The organiser should take the applications offline or upgrade the sever as soon as possible. India is planning to go to Mars Planet but ugc is going hundreds years back.

    only two days left to fill the form but the ugc site is very slow and jb bhi form cone complete hota hai tabhi ugc site me error aa jati hai tabhi this site show INTERNET EXPLORER CANNOT DISPLAY THE WEBPAGE.
    IF AS POSSIBLE ONLINE FORM IS DOWNLOAD AS CHALLEN FORM THEN WE CAN DOWNLOAD FORM AND PRINT OUT THE FORM AFTER THAT FILL THE FORM OR THEN SEND UGC ADDRESS.

Horribly slow and incorrect site. most times the pages fail to load. at other times, throws the error for 'invalid format' of date of birth. absolutely rubbish service after having laundered rs. 470 bucks from the candidates. the inefficient fools must be dragged to consumer court for harassment.

  149. UGC has awarded this contract to a website firm which located in America which is a tiny firm works on a small desktop like systems and is connected by a mere dial up like connection. That is all the problem.

    Normally page wont open, if opens it is sure it will give error in next step.
    It is not because of heavy traffic it is because of bad system and network conection on UGCNETOLINE.IN.

    I think UGC themselves should have taken the site development instead of private agency.
